| Married pensioners are couple of the year
A RETIRED married couple have been awarded a super slimming accolade. Alan and Maureen Burley, from Millill, Mistley, have lost nearly five stones between them in the last year. Members of Lawford Slimming World, who meet at Lawford's Venture Centre 2000, voted them couple of the year after smashing targets and sustaining a healthy lifestyle at the group. Doctors say Alan, 71, a semi-retired builder, carpenter and joiner, has improved his diabetes after losing two stones after following the Slimming World programme. e still wants to lose another stone to bring his weight to near 14 stones. Maureen, 63, a retired care worker, has a brand new found confidence after reaching her weight loss target of two stones and 9 pounds. She weighs 8 stones and two pounds after walking for half an hour daily and cutting out unhealthy treats. |
